Andrew took off for a weekend-long bachelor party (lucky duck), so Everett and I decided to head to the Lake of the Ozarks for a sweet weekend getaway. The true temperature of Missouri came through, hitting about 100 degrees all weekend long. Wow! We got to the lake late on Friday, so we didn’t do a whole lot. Saturday morning, we packed up the boat (we as in my family and our family friends…I do not (1) know how to ‘pack up’ a boat or (2) how to even work one) and got on the water. The boat races were this weekend, too! It was pretty crazy watching those speed boats race against time – going nearly 200mph!!
Everett did so great on the boat ride. In fact, it made him tired each time so he just fell right to sleep. Not me! I was up near the front…motion sickness gets the best of me on the water. Do you know how expensive infant lifejackets are? Huh…well, they aren’t cheap! I do have to say, though, I am very glad that I purchased one because my boy LOVED the water! He floated and splashed for quite some time, never once getting fussy. We finished off the trip by celebrating my parents 34th wedding anniversary with a little seafood dinner. Crab-boil…you get in my belly.
Here is a pic of us in the lake. It is kind of grainy…sorry, but I have to share! Everett looks kind of adorable in that lifejacket.
And, last but certainly not least, my sister and I were nominated to do the Ice Bucket Challenge. We decided that we had to get creative with ours. So, enjoy this gem. You’re Welcome.
