plain white tee.

I don’t know about you, but I thoroughly enjoy plain tops. I absolutely adore delicate details, but there is something to be said about a good ol’ staple – the plain white tee. I have several varieties: more of a loose fitting ‘boyfriend’ tee (my FAV), a creamy white tank, a crisp white ‘baby’ tee…and I’m sure there are more hiding in my closet. I am a fan of creams and whites. They are super easy to dress up or down – and go with any and everything.

Today, I want to show you how easy it is to dress up a plain white tee by accessorizing. My poison for this post is your necklace selection!

I have a serious sickness when it comes to accessories, namely jewelry. I have so many necklaces! The silver lining in my addiction is that I also love neutral clothing…so using my jewels to dress my outfits up or down is a cinch.

As you can see above, I have shown you four different looks:

Layering dainty necklaces – either a plain chain or a thin chain with small embellishments – is simply casual and cute. I love pairing these two necklaces together. One is personalized with ‘l ❤ a’ from Vintage Value Jewelry on Etsy. The other is called ‘Raise The Bar‘, a classic piece from Lia Sophia. You can keep the metal tone the same or mix it up. I like to pair traditional gold with rose gold a lot.

The next look is a fun and colorful spin. This is a beaded and layered necklace. I believe I picked this up from H&M. Beaded necklaces can be so much fun in the summer. You can add several colorful layers or keep it simple with just one necklace. Either way, it’s fun to add a little something extra to an otherwise plain look.

The third look is what I like to call a statement piece. These types of necklaces have been in for several seasons now. This particular piece is very edgy with the bold crystals and thick chain. Throw on a black blazer over your white tee and you have a great, pulled-together look. Keep an eye out for bold pieces that have a lot going on – layers, colors, different mediums (rope, chains, beads, crystals, tassels, etc.) – these necklaces are meant to BE the outfit.

The final look is, again, a very classy and simple look. Long necklaces, like the one shown from H&M, can be worn alone or layered. I also, like I said in this previous post, wear a lot of long necklaces with scarves in the summer – especially with a creamy white tank and shorts. Throw on a long necklace, with or without a scarf, to get a laid-back, easy look. Love it!

I hope this helps create some diversity and depth in your wardrobe! Enjoy.
